Computing
At Shooters Grove Primary School, we have developed our computing curriculum to ensure it is fully inclusive to every child, offers a broad and balanced curriculum and is differentiated to ensure high expectations for every child. The computing curriculum covers digital literacy, information technology and computing science. The Shooters Grove computing curriculum provides opportunities to use computers and iPads to develop the children’s skills that are required for them to become active participants in the digital world. At all stages of the children’s journey through the computing curriculum, key vocabulary is consistently used. Within the Early Years setting, children are encouraged to explore the computing world around them to ensure they are ready for Key stage 1. Essentially, the curriculum ensures that all children will leave Shooters Grove Primary School knowing how to stay safe online and be responsible and discerning users of online technology and ready for future learning and employment. We want children to develop a love and enjoyment of computing at Shooters Grove by providing the children with knowledge and experience through hands on experiences in the classroom.
