We are delighted to welcome you to Shooters Grove Primary; we strive to make all parents and children feel included and part of our school community. As parents, you are your child’s first teacher and we hope that the learning process can be a partnership.
We currently have 415 children on roll. These are organised into 14 classes over three phases: Early Years (Nursery & Reception), Infants/KS1 (Years 1 and 2) and Juniors/KS2 (Years 3, 4, 5 and 6).
In the School Office we have Mrs Claire Booth (Finance Officer), Mrs Jenny Stratton, Miss Rachel Barrett and Mrs Carol Higgs (Administration Officers) who will be able to advise you on any queries about the admissions application process, uniform, letters etc.
The school doors open at 8.40am. Children should be in their classrooms for registration at 8:50am. For the Reception and Infants (Reception to Year 2) school ends at 3.10pm, for the Juniors (Year 3 to Year 6) school ends at 3:15pm.
If your child is starting school for the first time (in our Nursery or Reception), you will be sent a pack detailing how we intend to make sure that your child’s transition into school is as smooth as possible. You will be invited to a parents' meeting to meet the staff team and hear information from other contributors about matters such as school meals and attendance.
There will also be the opportunity for your child to come into school on two occasions in the Summer term and then in September the children will be phased into school - your child’s starting date will be allocated at the parents' meeting.
If your child is changing schools to join us at Shooters Grove, all the information that you will need is readily available from the School Office and an appointment can be made with your child's new class teacher to discuss their induction and any specific needs they may have.
We look forward to meeting you.
